Join me online this Tuesday evening for a special Pop-Up Class, or on Wednesday morning for our weekly Therapeutic Repair Class! Here’s what I’ve got on the menu this week: Tues. Apr. 16th – 6:00-7:00pm – Ribcage Release Class Historically, therapists have always assessed the function of the thoracic spine separately from the function of the ribs, however, in reality we can not separate the health and movement options of one without considering the other. In fact, the movement capacity of our ribcage affects every part of our body from our head down to our toes. In this class we explore our ribcage and learn how to increase mobility where our ribs meet our spine, loosen the tissues that support it through our thorax and chest, and explore some 'hidden culprits' of the ribcage which are often silently contributing to neck pain & headaches, shoulder injuries, shortness of breath, and/or a lack of rotational capacity in the body. If you experience unresolved pain in your back, pelvis, or neck, if you have trouble taking a deep breath, or if you participate in 'rotational sports' such as golf, baseball, hockey, or tennis and are looking to improve your game, this class is for you! Wed. Apr. 17th – 9:30-10:45 am – Pelvic Floor Health Our pelvic floor musculatures are some of the least talked about tissues in the body, but in reality, they control so much of what it means to be strong, mobile, and in support of healthy organ activity. When our pelvic floor muscles are healthy, strong, and well connected, we experience a sense of vitality and ease of movement that allows us to explore life to it's fullest. When our pelvic floor muscles are weak, chronically engaged, or disconnected from our conscious control, we can experience a very large number of associated health conditions from incontinence and prolapse, to reproductive organ issues, low libido and self-esteem, a decline in sexual stamina, as well as kidney stones, bladder infections and holding issues, infertility, lower back and hip pain, pelvic misalignment, and digestive issues, to name a few. In fact, our pelvic floor musculature is some of the most important muscle action in the body! But what is the pelvic floor? Where is the pelvic diaphragm and how does it work? How is it different from the perineum and other tissue that are often confused with the pelvic diaphragm? What is the best way to exercise this area? Come explore these answers, explore the unknown zones of your body, and learn the ancient yogic technique of Mula Bandha - yoga's great secret to keeping our pelvic floor active, adaptable, and ready to support our vitality at all ages and stages of life! Please note that this class is not only safe for pregnancy, but highly recommended for it!   Register at: www.centeredwithinyoga.com/in-person-and-virtual-classes   I look forward to seeing you in class!

Join me online this Tuesday evening for a special Pop-Up Class, or on Wednesday morning for our weekly Therapeutic Repair Class! Here’s what I’ve got on the menu this week:   Tues. Apr. 9th – 6:00-7:00pm – Ribcage Release Class Historically, therapists have always assessed the function of the thoracic spine separately from the function of the ribs, however, in reality we can not separate the health and movement options of one without considering the other. Wed. Apr. 10th – 9:30-10:45 am – SI Joints & Hips Our most popular class topic, and one of the areas of the body which commonly gets pushed out of alignment and balance. Extended periods of sitting, repetitive mechanical movements which cause us to use one side of our body more than the other (ex. our gas pedal leg when driving or habitually standing with more weight on one leg than the other), compensation or fascial complications from a wide array of injury types, or a general lack of use can all cause our SI Joints and Hips to suffer and experience pain. In this class we will take our entire pelvic region on a therapeutic journey to decompress, improve fascial health and hydration, and learn ways to rebalance our posture and alignment to restore our natural alignment and function to these incredibly important joints!   Register at: www.centeredwithinyoga.com/in-person-and-virtual-classes   I look forward to seeing you in class!

Join me online this Wednesday or Thursday morning for some great therapeutic yoga topics! Here’s what I’ve got on the menu this week: Wed. Mar. 27th – 9:30-10:45 am – Feet, Knees, & ITs Join me for a deep fascial exploration as we journey from the soles of our feet, up through our knees, and into our IT bands, repairing and rejuvenating the key areas of fascial continuity which affect the health and mobility of all of our lower body joints. If you suffer from foot pain or conditions, knee injuries of any kind, or tightness in your thighs and hips, this class will be of particular interest. However, if your lower body joints are all healthy, this class will still show you how maintain and keep them that way for many years to come! Thurs. Mar. 28th – 10:00-11:15 am – Shoulder Mobility Class In this special 'Pop-Up Class' we will be looking at the complex magnificence of the human shoulder as we explore and liberate the articular anatomy of each of it's 4 individual joints: 1) The glenohumeral joint - the main ball and socket where the upper arm connects into the shoulder blade. 2) The acromioclavicular joint - where our collarbone meets the acromion process of our shoulder blade. 3) The sternoclavicular joint - where our collarbone meets our sternum. 4) The scapulothoracic joint - where our shoulder blade glides over our ribcage. In this class we will learn how to release adhesions and restrictions which block movement in each of these joints through stretching and fascial rolling, and will learn mobility exercises to balance and improve the movement relationships available between them. This class is sure to expand your understanding of how your shoulders work, and most importantly, how to care for them! Tues. Mar. 19th - 9:30-10:45am Special Pop-Up Class: Lower Back Decompression Class In this special pop-up class we will be exploring the causes of lower back pain, spinal compression, and degenerative conditions as we learn to understand exactly what it is that our lower back needs to heal, repair, and restore it's natural and inherent strength and mobility. Although the lower back is the most common area of the spine to experience pain and injury, it also has one of the highest and fastest healing potentials in the body, that is of course, if you know what to do for it! Join me as we explore a deep decompression and rebalancing of our entire lumbar spine including our discs, fascia, muscles, ligaments, and nerves. This class is sure to show you the path to a happier and healthier lumbar spine!     Wed. Mar. 20th - 9:30-10:45am: Yoga Therapy for Thyroid Health The thyroid gland, a small, butterfly-shaped endocrine gland located just below the adam's apple at the base of your neck, produces hormones that regulate your body's metabolic rate, growth, and development. It plays a role in controlling heart, muscle and digestive function, brain development and bone maintenance, and also plays a large role in our energy, vitality, and libido.   When our thyroid gland is struggling we may experience issues in controlling our weight or regulating our internal organs, difficulties sleeping, fatigue, digestive irregularities, cold intolerance, 'brain fog', dry skin, thinning hair, menstrual irregularities for women, low libido, and even depression.   Lucky for us, our body is designed in such a way that we are able to access our thyroid glad in a number of ways that affect it's health and ability to repair. In today's class we will learn how to use modern research, yoga, pranayama, and the intelligent design of the body to massage, cleanse, nourish, and move our thyroid and it's associated tissues in a way that helps to improve it's function, as well as it's ability to self-repair and regulate. I invite you to join me on this therapeutic journey and experience the effect of some much needed thyroid love!     Register at: www.centeredwithinyoga.com/in-person-and-virtual-classes   I look forward to seeing you in class!

Join me online this Wednesday morning for our regular weekly Virtual Therapeutic Yoga class, or join me on Thursday for a special 'Pop-Up' Class available this week only! Here’s what I’ve got on the menu: Wed. Feb. 28th - 9:30-10:45am Rib & Shoulder Therapeutics In this class we will discuss the ribcage and it's importance in shoulder health and mobility. We will explore decompression techniques that improve mobility within the individual rib structures and the system as a whole and will learn to remove the adhesions and sticky spots that cause compensation through our back and restrictions through our shoulders and arms. The truth is, our ribcage health and mobility affect every part of the body from head to toe, and healing the ribs can often create the internal setting which allows other areas to also start healing. If you suffer from pain in your shoulders, upper back, chest, arms, or neck, this class will be incredibly valuable and will be sure to show you how to find and fix the culprits behind much of this pain! Thurs. Feb. 29th - 9:30-10:30am Special Pop-Up Class: Yoga Therapy for Knee Pain  **10 minute after class bonus: How to K-Tape Your Knees*** In this special 'Pop-Up' class we will be exploring the structures of our knee joints, their tendons and ligaments, and all of the fascial structures which support their healthy movement. Pain or stiffness, ligament or tendon damage, meniscus tears or other forms of cartilage damage, baker cysts, patellar tendonitis, fractures, pins, plates, and pain will all be discussed and addressed through this yoga journey. Whether you are looking to prevent injury through a healthy maintenance program, are working on an old injury, or are just starting to address a fresh injury, this class will be safe, informative, and packed with great techniques that will allow you to take charge of your healing process and get things back on track!   As a bonus, after class Erin will teach you how to properly apply 'K-Tape' (or Kinesiology Tape) to an injured knee, just like your physio therapist would. If you would like to stay for 10 minutes after class to learn this technique, or if you would like to purchase K-Tape and follow along, we invite you to enjoy this bonus content at no additional charge! I recommend purchasing your K-Tape in advance. You can get 'pre-cut' K-Tape for the knee at most pharmacies, however, it is expensive to purchase these kits and they only include enough tape for one application. I would recommend to source out a 'roll' of uncut K-Tape instead. It's much cheaper and you will get dozens of applications out of a roll for the same price as a single application of 'pre-cut' tape. You can find rolls of K-Tape at many medical supplies stores, or you can buy it in advance on Amazon:   www.amazon.ca/TapeGeeks-Premium-Kinesiology-Athletic-Shoulder/dp/B07C1H5KFP/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?  New to Online Yoga?   Your first class is free!   Simply visit our Virtual Classes page, select the date you'd like on the calendar bar, and click the 'Book' button beside the class. On the payment screen you'll see an option for 'First Class Free.' If you select this the system will process your check out at $0.   Feel free to contact me with any questions you have or to learn how virtual Therapeutic Yoga can help you with your physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing!

The closing of a year and the start of a new one always represent a great time to reflect on the things we are grateful for, and to use our grateful heart to help us set healthy intentions for what we would like to cultivate in the year to come. Gratitude Practice has been clinically proven to help people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build stronger relationships with others and self. I invite you for a little break, whether it be the New Year or anytime of year, to take care of yourself and make some space for mindful reflection and grateful appreciation for ourselves, our bodies, and all that makes our life the beautiful gift that it is! Join me online on for a special year end virtual therapeutic yoga class based around the practice of Gratitude while we enjoy a gentle full body stretch. In this class we celebrate a year well lived by choosing to end it with a spirit of gratitude and compassion towards ourselves and others, setting the stage for great things to come in the New Year.   Gratitude has been clinically proven to help people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build stronger relationships with others and self.   I invite you for a little break this holiday season to take care of yourself and make some space for mindful reflection and grateful appreciation for ourselves, our bodies, and all that makes our life the beautiful gift that it is! Registration: • Go to our Virtual Classes (www.centeredwithinyoga.com/in-person-and-virtual-classes)page, select Dec. 28th on the calendar bar, and hit the Book button to the right side of the class title 'Therapeutic Repair' that appears. • You will be able to register and pay online easily with Paypal or credit card. • New to Virtual Classes? Your first class is FREE! You will see a 'First Class Free' option in the payment screen that will be available for you to select. I hope you're all having a great holiday season and am wishing you a peaceful, prosperous, and empowering 2024!
