In this class we explore the musculature of the neck, eyes, and jaw. Fascial rolling techniques and gentle stretching will help us release adhesions or restrictions which may be causing pain. Strengthening the muscles which move our eyes will help improve vision, focus, and the speed of our reactions, while releasing stress / trauma and helping the brain heal. This class is for you if: - you spend more than 1 hour per day looking at a screen - you get tension headaches or migraines - have TMJ or other jaw related conditions - suffer from poor vision or eye strain - experience neck pain or suffer from head-forward-posture - or if you are recovering from a mild-moderate concussion. None of the above! Congratulations! Be sure to check out our latest video on the Yoga on Demand Video Library! Frozen Shoulder, also called adhesive capsulitis, involves stiffness, pain, and lack of mobility in the shoulder joint. Many things can cause it, but essentially what happens is an extensive pattern of adhesions that effective 'glue' the arm bone down onto our side. This condition builds slowly over time and usually begins with random shoulder pains that come and go, tight, sore shoulder and neck muscles, and a reduce range of motion with pain when lifting the arm up over head. The best cure for frozen shoulder is prevention! So, if you have any shoulder or stiffness pain, now is the time to start addressing it, and this class will help you determine if you have any frozen shoulder 'red flags' and will show you how to correct them. This class is explores a therapeutic approach to improving pelvic floor health, better breathing, as well as safe and effective ways to strengthen your core without creating to much strain on the rest of the body. A friend and long-time yoga student who suffers from plantar fasciitis recently asked me a great question about conflicting ideas on the best path to foot care. Her plantar fasciitis had flared up and was creating considerable pain. She has been researching the benefits of barefoot living and has been working hard on her feet. During this flair up, her doctor recommended supportive, soft shoes to help things heal, However, this advice seems to go against the growing body of research which suggests that we need to get free of our dependency on orthotics and supportive shoes in order to rehabilitate our feet back to the natural and abundant abilities of bare feet. So, what is the right answer? How can she best help her feet through this flair up? Should she wear shoes or not?
