About the Event

A workshop designed to integrate breathing, bandhas, and biomechanics into a format that will help you learn healthy movement patterns that support neural regulation, fascial hydration, joint maintenance, and a healthy connection with your own inner strength.

This workshop is designed as a practical movement session that will allow you to connect and incorporate all of the individual learning pieces we focus on in the CWY repertoire.

Bandhas & Breathing: Learn how to use your breath to create and control internal pressure, to increase stability, strength, and awareness, and to teach you to connect your heart and mind to the infinite wisdom of your body.

Biomechanics: All movement is NOT created equal! Learning to move your body with correct alignment, as nature intended, is the key to developing healthy movements patterns which restore and rebalance the body. Learn simple alignment principles that can be applied to all yoga classes, sports activities, and even day to day activities. Every moment in a day that you are moving your body has the potential to become mindful movement therapy if you understand these simple principles!

Neural Regulation: Discover how breathing and mindful movement can be brought together to create new patterns that allow our nervous system to become more adaptable, resilient, and balanced, affecting us in body, mind, and spirit.

Fascial Freedom: See how movement can be used to 'educate' our fascial system to improve communication between supporting and connective tissues as we learn to interpret and understand the sensations and information available within this extensive network that literally connects every piece of your body!

The Result: A new perspective on how to 'Connect the Dots' and use your yogic tool box to help you find productive new patterns that will support healthy development in yoga and in life.

This workshop is safe and accessible for most. We will be getting up and down on our mat and experiencing some gentle weight bearing activity on our hands and knees, so if you have any severe joint injuries or limitations, I recommend starting in our Therapeutic Series before beginning movement based classes such as this.

This workshop is a great place to start for beginners to Hatha Yoga, or Therapeutic students who feel ready to take things to the next level. This workshop will teach you great habits that will ensure you progress safely and efficiently as you develop and deepen your practice.

If you are an experienced yogi, this class will take you back to the basics that many students never learned in the first place, and will teach you to create subtle adjustments that will add new layers of understanding to your existing practice.
