New YouTube Channel Coming Soon!

Hello YOD friends! I'm excited to announce that I will be starting my own yoga Youtube channel in the near future. This channel will offer a few yoga classes (nothing like the library collection, but a small sample of it), and will focus mostly on interesting anatomy and yoga topics that I hope will provide context to the why's and how's of yoga, and give you lots of fresh inspirations.

I've been working on my tech and video editing skill behind the scene's in order to create some interesting new content for you all to enjoy. Since I have no background in video editing, it's been quite an adventure! I'd like to offer one of the video's I've just finished editing as a sneak preview for you all here. I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions on it in the comments below!

The Thoracolumbar Fascia:

A Hidden Culprit in Back Pain

The thoracolumbar fascia (TLF) is your body's central hub for force and feeling. It’s a multi-layered diamond of silvery connective tissue that bridges your core, back, and hips, acting as both a protective stabilizer for your spine and a dynamic spring that powers every twist and step you take. Your TLF essentially works as your body’s natural weight belt. It uses elastic energy rather than muscular energy, allowing it work like a high-tension spring. When you bend forward in a yoga pose, it stretches and stores "strain energy," which then helps snap you back up with less effort. It also functions as the ‘sensory organ’ of your back.  Neurologically, it’s six times more sensitive than muscle tissue, and is packed with nerve endings that tell your brain exactly where your spine is in space. This…

Online Therapeutic Yoga w/ Erin - Apr. 29th

Move better. Hurt less. Go further.

Your hips carry you through every step of every day — and over time, the repetitive strain of life, postural imbalances, adhesions, and built-up tension can quietly rob them of their freedom. Free Your Hips is a therapeutic yoga class designed to take your hip joints on a purposeful journey through their full range of motion, restoring the balance of tension that keeps them both stable and mobile. Whether your hips feel perfectly fine and you want to keep them that way, are occasionally stiff and achy after a long day, or have become chronically painful to the point of affecting how you walk — this class was made for you. Together, we'll decompress, stretch, mobilize, and massage these incredible joints, releasing the layers of tension and restriction that have been quietly building up. Every pose comes with modifications and variations, making this…
