About the Event
The philosophy of yoga has long involved doing practices that cultivate compassion. Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) is an empirically supported program designed to cultivate the skill of self-compassion. Based on the ground-breaking research of Kristin Neff and the clinical expertise of Christopher Germer, MSC teaches core principles and practices that enable participants to respond to difficult moments in their lives with kindness, care, and understanding. This workshop is an introduction to Mindful Self-Compassion, combined with the practice of yoga.
This introductory workshop will help you build an understanding of mindfulness in daily living, mindfulness of emotions, and help you normalize the idea that you are not alone in your struggles. Furthermore, you will learn practical ways to offer yourself self-compassion and self-kindness during challenging times through meditation, a reflection exercise, and a yoga practice.
