Each knee has two menisci, and it is the one on the inner side of the knee which is the most common to see damaged. Whether the meniscus is torn, frayed, or just worn down, there is plenty that you can learn to do outside of surgery to help get rid of the pain, improve the function and range of motion, and retrain your muscles and joints to better support your knee cartilage in a way that stops the degeneration and improves the situation considerably! When the forces from above and below are balanced, we tend to see happy knees. When certain things go out of balance, we experience joint strain, wear and tear, and the ability to easily 'tweak' things into pain and inflammation. In this class we will look specifically at the relationships which tend to cause pain, strain, and injury to the lateral (outer) side of our knees, assessing what may be causing our pain, and learning to heal and prevent future damage.

In this class, we take explore fascial rolling techniques to help improve tissue health and to remove swelling from our feet, knees, and legs. Enjoy gentle stretches to help relieve tension in your hips and knees and to support healthy repair.

Through a combination of fascial rolling, long hold stretching, stabilizing techniques, and accessible anatomy concepts, this class will give you key insights into what is happening in your own knees, how you can improve pain and restore / maintain healthy mobility and strength, and why your IT bands and hips are important in the process of caring for your knees!

In this special 'Pop-Up' class we will be exploring the structures of our knee joints, their tendons and ligaments, and all of the fascial structures which support their healthy movement. Pain or stiffness, ligament or tendon damage, meniscus tears or other forms of cartilage damage, baker cysts, patellar tendonitis, fractures, pins, plates, and pain will all be discussed and addressed through this yoga journey. Whether you are looking to prevent injury through a healthy maintenance program, are working on an old injury, or are just starting to address a fresh injury, this class will be safe, informative, and packed with great techniques that will allow you to take charge of your healing process and get things back on track!

In this class we will take a deep exploration beginning in the IT Bands travelling up our outer thighs and into our hips, and then we will follow this fascial line up through the stabilizing tissues of our hips and into our lower back. When tight or out of balance, pressure or adhesion in these lines can often be a hidden trigger for deep hip pain, knee degeneration, and chronic lower back pain. By learning to balance the tension in these fascial structures, we will learn to balance our own center of gravity, realign our hips and knees, and liberate our lower back so it can start enjoying the stability and mobility with which it is designed to function. This class will help you learn to not only recognize where you are out of balance, but will also empower you to know what to do about it!

In this class we take a deep dive into the health of our feet, learning to care for their unique fascial setup, mobilizing their many bones and joints, and learning how to align, stretch, and strengthen in a way that is restorative and transformative. From there we begin to work our way up the leg to release and lengthen the tissues in our calves and legs that tend to add unnecessary strain to our feet and can often be the hidden culprits in foot pain and tightness. If you suffer from foot or ankle pain or swelling, plantar fasciitis, arthritis, bunions, or hammertoes, or baker cysts, this class is for you! A 10 minute blast to help build strength in the hip stabilizers that support all healthy movement of the hips and knees.

The term 'hip flexor' actually refers to an entire group of muscles located at the front of your hip which allow you to lift your leg and knee upward towards your chest. Hip flexor muscles include both muscles from our legs (quadriceps, sartorius, and pectineus) as well as large muscles groups from our core (psoas and illiacus), who work together to allow us to complete actions such as standing, walking, running, kicking a ball, or climbing stairs. When the hip flexors start to become to short or adhered (which commonly happens for both people who are inactive or sit a lot, as well as for highly active people who have strained them from improper warm up or intense physical activity), they can create pain and movement limitation in our hips, knees, sacro-illiac joints, and lumbar spine. In this class we will learn how to lengthen and repair our hip flexors to get them feeling great again and to help heal the many other areas of the body they affect!

In this class we take a deep look at hip and knee health and the role our IT Bands and TFL muscles play in keeping them balanced and safe.
