The Hidden Source of
Neck & Shoulder Pain
Let's explore our neck a from another angle this week and take a look at our Trapezius muscles and their associated fascia and functions. Our trapezius muscle is a large, flat, diamond shaped muscle that spans over 12 spinal vertebrae and covers a large area of our back including our neck, shoulders, and ribs. Their fascia integrates and connects the strong tissues of our lower back and the back of our legs, with the tissues that move our ribs, shoulders, arms, and neck. This single back muscle is involved in a much wider array of movement strategies than most ever consider! When it becomes adhered or dysfunctional, as it tends to do in a variety of ways, it can lead to a cascading effect of misalignment, compensation, pain, and is often the hidden culprit behind a neck that never seems to heal. Join me for this class as we learn to asses and repair the physical function, flexibility, strength, mobility, and dysfunction in your traps and give your neck and back the relief they desire!

Releasing Tension in your Mind & Spine
Today we will explore the relationships that exist between mental health and the physical health of your spine. Modern research is increasingly confirming something the yogi's of old have known all along: The health of your mind directly manifests into the physical reality of your body. A vibrant and healthy mind creates a vibrant and healthy body. A mind riddled with stress, anxiety, overwhelm, and distraction will produce a body which feels exhausted and degenerates quickly. No where in the body is this more apparent than in the structures of your spine. When we learn to unwind the tension surrounding our spine, not only do me move more freely in space, but we also learn to unwind the tension in our mind, letting go of our stress and anxiety, and giving our mind and body a chance to rest, heal, and rejuvenate.
Join me for this exploration as we learn to improve our spinal health and explore techniques that will help you repattern your nervous system in a way that will make your more resilient mentally and physically!
